Another S traton! This one is quartz thought. Cheaper is nice, but the quartz version of thi s model (the speciale) is considerably thinner, hence the decision to go battery powered with this guy. Loving the 70s vibes

I love it. I hate the $500 price tag for quartz. I’ve been craving this or the Maxton panda dial quartz model.

It is pricey for a quartz, but there is more to the watch that just the movement

True. I have a Marathon JSAR quartz that costs a bit more than the Straton. But I got it because of the military heritage and durability.

I do struggle to understand what makes the Straton $499  when a Maxton - a very similar idea - can be had for $275.

Automatic is about  double the cost.

Looks rad. I really should start wearing actual watches again and not a smartwatch.

Plenty of $500 decent automatic movements. Anything over $200 seems like a rip off for quartz. Although I couldn’t justify buying one for more than $40

Sure, but plenty of expensive quartz models as well. You still have to make the case and dial and hands and crown and crystal and assemble it and QC it.... quartz va automatic price difference is strictly in the cost of the movement.

That said, I’d probably own this watch at $250-300. At $500, it’s not quite worth it for me, but then my Marathon is msrp $720 and I am dying to get a Seiko Tuna all black model and it’s wuartz as well.

Oh man, I am digging that. Sorta reminds me of  a Tag Monaco . Very unique indeed.

Unless it’s gold, it’ll rapidly devalue. Not my cup, but good for those with expendable cash.

You’d be surprised with some of these micro brands and how they hold value. I’m pretty active on multiple watch forums and while most of them lose value, it’s nothjng drastic in general.

Some actually gain - I could probably sell my yellow fin Tuna for what I bought it for after wearing it for a year.
